Guarantee deposits
What cards are accepted as a guarantee for the rental?
At the time of rental, the person named on the reservation must be present at the counter and present a credit or debit card in their name issued by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or UnionPay.
Debit cards are only accepted for these vehicle categories: A, B, C, D, E and Z. However, two credit cards may be requested for special vehicle groups as a guarantee. For more information, please refer to our web page. No types of Prepaid cards, Revolving, Postepay, Visa Electron, V Pay, Pagobancomat, Viabuy, PayPal cards, or cards with the logo “Electron” or the wording “Electron Use Only”, and cards from the “Maestro” circuit are permitted as a guarantee. The balance on the card must be sufficient to cover the vehicle liability, any extra charges or deposits required as a guarantee for the rental. The “monthly/multi-monthly” rental option is available exclusively with a credit card (no Debit or Prepaid cards) as a guarantee for all vehicle categories. Please also check the PIN code of your credit card before you reach the desk.
Car rental and deposit: what they are and how they work
When you rent a car, the rental company will need to hang on to a deposit, as they are granting you the use of a precious good and must be sure that this is protected.
The deposit is an amount of money taken as a safe guard and used as an assurance by the rental company, which uses it also to check the validity of the customer’s credit card.
The rental company undertakes to return the amount after it makes sure that the vehicle is in good conditions and the driver has fulfilled all their obligations.
When the deposit will be refunded and what to do
If everything goes smoothly, the deposit will be unblocked after 4-5 working days. Sometimes, it can take up to 10 days if there’s a festivity going on or if the rental company is experiencing busy periods. If your deposit hasn’t been returned within that time, you can contact us via www.noleggiare.it/en/contacts/. Call your bank if we’ve returned the deposit but you still don’t see the amount on your account.
How much is a car rental deposit?
The amount of money depends on the type of the vehicle. That’s why fixed or standard costs cannot be applied to every vehicle.
